Dr. Sarka is pleased to provide oral and maxillofacial surgery services in his practice in Bath, Maine. Dr. Sarka moved to Maine in 2004, and after practicing in Portland for 18 months, he purchased Coastal Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Bath, where he practices oral surgery full time.
Dr. Sarka is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point where he earned his B.S. degree in Engineering in 1987. Upon completing his Army service as an Infantry Officer, he put his education to use as an engineer for a computer company in Silicon Valley. He returned to school, and earned his D.D.S. degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California in 1998. During his residency training in Pittsburgh, PA, he also completed medical school and received his M.D. in 2004 from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sarka was classically trained in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is licensed to practice in the state of Maine.
Dr. Sarka is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and maintains active memberships in the American Medical Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Maine State Dental Association. He is also a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomat of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Sarka has staff privileges at Mid Coast Hospital and maintains courtesy privileges at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Dr. Sarka’s clinical interests include Dental Surgery and Implants, Pediatric Oral Surgery, Bone Grafting, Implant Soft Tissue Management, Orthognathic Surgery, Sleep Apnea, Maxillofacial Trauma, Pathology and Reconstructive Surgery, TMJ Surgery and Anesthesia. He is married with two children and he currently lives in the Greater Portland Area.
